Kaarkuzhali Babu Krishnamurthy, MD, MBE, a board-certified neurologist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center with a special interest in treating epilepsy in pregnant women, has joined the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Milton (BID-Milton) Medical Staff and is now seeing patients at BID-Milton every Tuesday.
Dr. Krishnamurthy’s clinical interests include advice on contraception, family planning and pregnancy for women with epilepsy; improving seizure control, avoiding medication side effects and improving quality of life for patients with epilepsy and evaluation of first seizures and new onset epilepsy.
Dr. Krishnamurthy graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She completed her internship at Yale-New Haven Hospital and residency and fellowship programs at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC). Dr. Krishnamurthy is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (Neurology). She is an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School and a member of Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She is also director of the Women’s Health in Epilepsy Program; and Co-chair of the Ethics Advisory Committee at BIDMC.
Dr. Krishnamurthy will evaluate and treat pregnant women with epilepsy in Dr. Alice Shin and Dr. Huma Farid’s Milton Women’s Health office located in Suite 202 in the Lintz Medical Office Building, 100 Highland Street, Milton. Appointments can be made by calling 617-667-4078.
