Dr. Edward Hatchigan

Edward Hatchigian, MD | Bariatrician

  • Medical director of the Weight Loss Surgery Program at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
  • Specially trained in nutrition and management of patients with obesity
  • Works with bariatric surgeons in the selection and care of weight loss surgery patients
  • Graduated Harvard Medical School and completed internship and residency programs at Deaconess Hospital in Boston
  • Completed advanced fellowship program on the Nutrition Support Service of the Departments of Medicine and Surgery at Deaconess Hospital
  • Has taught in the field of nutrition for 25 years, including research in the area of nutrition immunology
  • Member of several professional societies including the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the American Society of Bariatric Physicians

  • Has worked with bariatric surgery patients since 2004




Melissa L. Ganz, MS, RD, LDN | Dietitian

  • Received BS in Culinary Nutrition from Johnson & Wales University, Providence RI
  • Received Masters of Science in Nutrition & Health Promotion, Simmons College, Boston, MA
  • Member of the American Dietetic Association
  • Member of American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery
  • Member of the Dana Farber Leadership Counsel
  • Has worked with bariatric patients since 2007

Sue Walker

Sue Walker, LICSW, MSW | Bariatric Social Worker

  • Received her BA from American University in Washington, D.C. 
  • Earned her Masters Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University
  • Licensed Independent clinical social worker in the state of Massachusetts for the last 19 years
  • Has worked in a multitude of medical settings such as: inpatient, homecare, rehabilitation, nursing homes, hospice, outpatient and has owned her own private case management company.

Cecelia Pukt, Administrative Assistant to Dr. Morgan Bresnick

  • Completed BS in Psychology, Bridgewater State University, Bridgewater, MA
  • Completed Masters of Science in Management in Healthcare Administration, Southern New Hampshire University
  • Experience in multiple healthcare arenas since 2008 including acute and critical care, emergency department, surgical services, support services and nursing administration
  • Experience working with bariatric patients since 2014
